Since 2001, Rachael has photographed over 250 weddings in the Chicagoland area and the surrounding Midwest states – Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri and Kentucky. As of 2007, she expanded her coverage to include all of Arizona during the winter months. Her talent has also landed her gigs in California, Florida, Rhode Island, Maryland, New York and Mykonos, Greece.

Rachael consistently photographs over 40 weddings per season. When not working with wedding clients, Rachael can be found shooting portrait sessions that feature babies & families, engagements and anniversaries, Intimate Moments and other special occasions. She also currently handles the photography needs of about a dozen local commercial clients. Rachael and her team feel the rewards of being true family photographers when they are asked to photograph the new babies of former wedding clients. Rachael’s current record is photographing the weddings of all three siblings in one family – thanks W family! She is banking on surpassing that record with the M family, of which she has photographed two of the four siblings already.

Rachael began shooting weddings while majoring in Photojournalism at Columbia College Chicago, capturing her first event on film in 1997. She gained experience through internships and stringing for the Pioneer Press.

Armed with a bachelor’s degree in Photojournalism, Rachael landed in corporate America while at the same time launching and growing her photography business – Rachael Silvers Photography. For five years she worked on building her business and training associate and assistant photographers. In the summer of 2006 she was fortunate enough to make the split from the corporate world and focus on her passion for photography full-time. Rachael changed the business name from Rachael Silvers Photography to Metropolitan Imageworks in 2007 to further embody the team effort.

Rachael is an internationally ranked member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) and a member of Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) .

I have been an ordained Christian minister since 1995. I hold four ordinations. One is through the United Christian Church and Ministerial Association, one is through New Wineskin Ministries in Indianapolis, Indiana, one is through Family Chaplains and the fourth is through First Nation Church, authorizing me to perform Native American weddings. I am authorized to perform wedding ceremonies anywhere in the United States that recognizes the authority of ordained clergy to perform wedding ceremonies.

MY PERSONAL STORY: I got married on May 11, 2009. So I do understand what you are going throjgh. I am a walking miracle of God. I was born with cerebral palsy. My birth weight was two pounds, 12 ounces. An infant with my exact same profile died in the incubator. There is still no medical rxplanation of why I lived and he died. I believe that it was because God has a purpose for my life, which includes officiating weddings and helping people come together in holy matrimony.

I spent four months and ten days homeless and living in Wheeler Mission after the dissolution of my first marriage. Now I am out of the mission and helping oyjers overcome homelessness through my church, New Wineskin Ministries East in Indianapolis. Praise the Lord for what He has done in my life!

Zeta Alpha Studio began photographing weddings in 2002 as one of the area’s first all documentary/photojournalistic wedding photography studios. Since then, the studio has expanded to include portraits, sporting events and corporate & commercial photography. In addition to its focused attention on brides & grooms, some of the studio’s clients include Blue & Gold Illustrated, Prep Sports Online and Burkhart Advertising.

Matthew Whitlock went to Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa right out of high school to study theater – focusing on technical design and lighting design. During his junior year, he switched his major to Fine Art Photography and never looked back. The lighting design experience he gained in the theater directly benefited his portrait photography, and was enhanced during his semester internship with Jill Greenburg Studio in New York City, NY. After graduating from Coe, he moved back to South Bend and began working for Fan Action, Inc – the publishers of Blue & Gold Illustrated (a Notre Dame football magazine) and Blue Gold Traditions (a Notre Dame Merchandiser). At Fan Action, he did all of the product photography for their many websites & catalogs, and shot sports photojournalism for the newspaper. Zeta Alpha Studio was born when Matthew saw that wedding photojournalism is the perfect opportunity to link his passions for photojournalism and portrait photography.
